Institutional Racism

“When you’ve got institutional racism, you will always have a larger degree of discrimination happening within its workplace. That’s just another part of the journey where we started to track down institutional racism. We need to get to the core of it and bring that understanding out. “

Repatriation

“As I was walking through the exhibit I walked in front of this glass box and it really hit me, tears were running down my face. As I was standing there and watching everyone else passing through it was as though I was being put on display and being exhibited. It felt so strong and all I could think of was, when are we going to get you back.”

Matriarch

“I grew up knowing every aspect and element of my culture and traditions and language and that was through my great grandmother. Living in the culture and understanding and knowing everything gave me the strength of who I am and where I was going in the future. I guess I grew up with very strong women.”

Teaser film

“When I look at the work of Auntie Henrietta, and particularly the cultural work, it’s almost like she’s reinvigorating what was always around us.”
